CarDomain Network Inc. has been sold to Source Interlink Media, a Southern California media company with dozens of niche publications, websites and other products geared toward car fanatics, action sport junkies, home technology geeks and other enthusiast communities.

Launched in 1998 by WhitePages founder Alex Algard and Yoogi’s Closet founder Simon Han, CarDomain.com is an online automotive enthusiast community with more than 2 million registered users and almost 1 million user-generated vehicle profiles, according to a news release announcing the sale today.

CarDomainNetwork Inc. also includes the automotive video-sharing network StreetFire.net and Autoholics.com, which aggregates car culture blogs.

“This acquisition extends our footprint in automotive media with websites embraced by car enthusiasts who want to share their knowledge, experience, photos and videos with others who share their passion for vehicles of all types” Chris Argentieri, president of El Segundo, Calif.-based Source Interlink Media said in the release.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
