Software Development Engineer

We’re looking for a top notch developer to join nbcnews.com’s development team. As a developer at nbcnews.com, you’ll help design and develop the systems that power our award winning sites.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
3+ years in web development or related field
Experience collaborating on a project team with at least 3 people
Good communication skills
Fluency in the Microsoft .NET stack
C#
ASP.NET MVC
Html and CSS
Basic understanding of Object Oriented & Design Patterns
Unit Testing & Debugging

Desired Qualifications

Desire to work in an environment that includes Lean, Agile, and Kanban development practices
Web Development using JavaScript libraries (JQuery, Backbone, …), CSS, DHTML, etc.
Familiarity with SQL, XML or other data stores
Device application development (iOS, Android, Windows 8)
HTML5 application development
Passionate code slinger coupled with a desire to get things done
Technophile with more devices than pockets
News junkie and/or social media enthusiast
