Software Design Engineer in Test II

Overview
The Software Design Engineer in Test II is responsible for the successful execution and delivery for the Agilysys Hospitality Solutions product lines. The position will involve managing a software engineer in test team and ensuring that project execution is successful. The position will be responsible for growing and mentoring engineers and providing them with career and project opportunities. The position will be responsible for leveraging Agile software engineering best practices to ensure an efficient and productive process is used. The position is responsible for delivering high quality software with a valuable set of features which meet customer needs. The position is responsible the overall delivery of high quality software to our customer base.

Responsibilities
•Execute in a technology startup environment including activities: green field designs and implementations, build systems, engineering processes, and delivery systems
•Provide management, mentoring and guidance for software engineers in test
•Responsible for successful project execution
•Implement and execute processes for high quality software engineering
•Participate in and own delivery of high quality software with customer focused features
•Develop and get approval of overarching test plan for each shipping product
•Develop or oversee the creation of test cases
•Develop and own the test automation plan
•Routinely perform code reviews of test automation to ensure high quality and coverage
•Collaborate with program management on product features, requirements, and delivery
•Ensure Agile software engineering best practices are utilized and continuously enhanced
•Collaborate with program management on multi-release product roadmap generation

Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years’ experience in commercial software development disciplines
•Exhibit a strong passion for software testing
•4+ years of experience with object oriented programming – C++, C#, Java (preferred)
•4+ years of experience with designing and implementing testing strategies
•4+ years of experience implementing full product test automation
•Experience with Java-­‐based testing tools (Junit,TestNG, Fit, etc.)
•Experience with performance/load testing tools, (Jmeter, Load Runner, etc)
•Ability to understand and write complex SQL queries
•Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to work with corporate stakeholders as well and technical experts.
