Senior Software Developer

Relaborate is a Seattle startup looking for a Senior Level Software Engineer. Ideal candidates must be self-starters, have a passion for technology and extensive web development experience. We're specifically looking for a member of the Geekwire audience who is interested in getting in on the ground floor and hungry to solve interesting problems in a rapidly growing market.

We're creating a collaborative software application that allows businesses to extract the silos of knowledge from their team and network to use in their content creation efforts. (Think Quora for organizations, with some 'magic' dust). We need help with challenging problems of expertise and content mapping which enables us to intelligently deliver ideas and questions to the right people. We are using: CSS3, HTML5, JavaScript/JSON, jQuery, PHP on the Yii framework, and some Ruby & mongoDB.

Your Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain our SaaS application platform. Architect, design and implement new functionality and/or product enhancements as needed
- Play a leading role in all phases of software development from planning, designing, implementation, testing, deployment, and day-to-day operation of Relaborate's products
- Work closely with the product team to contribute to the analysis of functional requirements and design of new features
- Document and communicate designs and interfaces for use by other engineers

The Basics:
- Experience in designing and developing large scale web applications
- A working knowledge of PHP and Ruby. (Or Java, Python, C#, etc., and a willingness to learn quickly)
- Experience with application frameworks like Ruby on Rails, Yii, CakePHP, etc.
- Demonstrated mastery of object-oriented programming and design patterns
- Experience working with relational databases, we use MySQL
- Front end chops with HTML5, CSS3, Javascript/jQuery
- Experience in building high performance, highly scalable, and SaaS applications
- Comfortable using version control systems like SVN or Git

Bonus Skills:
- Experience in using NoSQL technologies (MongoDB, Cassandra, Hbase etc)
- Experience with cloud-based IT technologies such as Amazon AWS, Heroku or Azure
- Experience in developing iOS-based or Android based mobile applications
- Bachelor or graduate degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- Knowledge of WordPress, including plugin development
