Position: Senior Android Software Development Engineer
Location: Seattle, WA (Pioneer Square)

The ideal candidate will be an experienced engineer with a proven record of delivery who can create high quality code in a dynamic environment. She/he understands the technical architecture of the Android OS and client frameworks for interacting with web services that optimizes for device battery life and network usage. She/he is also capable of building complex but easy-to-use applications that will delight our customers around the world.

Job responsibilities:

You will help drive end-to-end design, execution, quality, and delivery to market of Android applications that are connected to large-scale distributed web services. This demands proven technical design ability and a passion for delivering products that provide a world-class user experience. You’ve been there, done that, and know when to use new technology to push the limits and know when to fall back on proven components.

Requirements:

5-7 years of industry experience in developing consumer-facing handset/device applications
Proven ability to ship software that delivers customer-centric solutions
Strong ability to design, document, and communicate complex software systems
Can work independently and be efficient enough to take on light project management responsibilities
Strong collaborative skills developed from working with multiple internal and external groups
Proactively work with UI Designers & QA to provide a high quality user experience
Ability to work with international teams, including evening meetings and occasional travel

Qualifications:

BS in Computer Science or equivalent with 5 years of experience or MS with 3 years of experience.
Deep knowledge and experience in Java and Android
Knowledge and understanding of other languages and technologies (e.g., C/C++, Objective-C, Ruby).
Deep understanding of 3-tiered and Service-oriented Architectures, HTTP and REST-based APIs strongly desired
