What you’ll be doing…

You will be a key part of Tableau's burgeoning Business Systems team, tasked with building the next generation of end-to-end business systems that will support and propel the growth of Tableau Software.

As an active contributor, you are passionate about solving business needs with technology. In addition to coding, you enjoy systems design, data architecture, emerging technology and teamwork. You will help deliver high-quality, end-to-end technology ecosystems that support complex business needs in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires a broad range of skills through all steps of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, process engineering, and systems support. We are looking for someone with an agile mind who can not only solve complex software engineering problems but also possesses the big picture thinking that is vital to engineering effective business processes.

A few things we are working on…

+ Extending and enhancing the capabilities of our online user community through functionality and user interface changes
+ Extending the capabilities of our Single Sign-On to include new customer-facing services, including Tableau's own products
+ Creating the next generation quoting solution for our Sales Team, using the Salesforce.com platform
+ Optimizing our website search results using Google Search Appliance
+ Expanding our data integration capabilities across systems and platforms

+ A team player with excellent communication skills--you will be interacting with product developers, project managers, end users, and stakeholders
+ You have a willingness to jump in where and when you are needed, and the experience and professionalism required to meet your objectives
+ You embrace cloud-based systems and web services to help deliver functionality, scalability and results
+ You are experienced: you have 5+ years of experience working on enterprise systems and the ability to use multiple platforms and languages simultaneously
+ You have a BS in Computer Science, Management and Information Systems, or equivalent

Desired Technical Skills:

+ PHP, JavaScript, Java, CSS, XML, HTML, web services, and SQL
+ A deep understanding of the database systems and object-oriented design
+ Experience with the Salesforce.com platform
+ Experience with Single Sign-On and Identity Management systems
