QA Software Test Engineer

The primary duties of this position will be to perform black box functional testing at the system level. Experience in white box, performance, and automation testing are definite pluses, and those skills will be utilized as well. The ideal QA test engineer candidate possesses extensive experience developing test plans and test cases and executing them in a small team, high performance work environment. The successful candidate has strong communication, collaboration, and customer advocacy skills, and is adept at reporting on the state of quality in the product. You must be self-directed, self-motivated, and able to determine your tasks on a daily basis and provide transparency into those tasks. You will own your area of responsibility, and will have the courage to learn, ask questions, and make mistakes. The candidate must be flexible and adaptable to deal with changing requirements, and proactive in sharing information and viewpoints.

Qualifications:

•5+ years of experience in software test engineering on Java web-apps, particularly in an IaaS, Saas, or PaaS environment. Enterprise software experience is a plus.
•Sound understanding of internet technologies (HTTP, HTML, Javascript, XML, Apache etc.) and proficiency in Windows and Linux.
•Exceptional problem solving and debugging skills combined with a diligence for follow-through and results
•Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with customers, teammates, and other internal colleagues
•Ability to operate in an agile, entrepreneurial start-up environment
•Domain experience in Finance/Accounting is a plus
•B.S. Computer Science or equivalent experience
