Description

Plan and administer and maintain all Telco hardware and software. Manage vendor supplied services related to voice and data communications. Supervise telecom maintenance and supplier vendors and verify contract compliance and billing. Manage home office and branch Adds/Moves from the IT perspective and perform the daily telephony adds, moves, and changes. Manage and support Cisco Voice Over IP (VOIP) centralized call manager. Plan and supervise expansion and upgrade of voice and data communications to meet business needs. Support MPLS and IP based WAN/LAN network.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Support the telephony needs of 1000 users across 90+ locations spanning four States.
Design, implement, and provide administration of very diverse telecommunication systems and Call Center applications.
Provide Maintenance and Administration for all telephony switching equipment. Responsible for Local/Toll Free number routing including the support of 150+ lines of cellular services.
Perform complex tasks for routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and monthly Telco System backups.
Explain complex routing strategies in simple business terms and describe their advantages and disadvantages which allow proper identification of opportunities to streamline and optimize routing strategies.
Support various projects that require telecom services. This will include planning and coordination of new phone system installation, and the setup of branch location DSL circuits; work on project teams, and preparation of project information.
Manage vendor activities, including the Coordination and Implementation of new vendor provided voice/data services. Will also participate in vendor planning sessions to ensure that vendors comply with specifications.
Create and maintain telephony system documentation and procedures.
Develop and maintain Telecommunication Business Resumption Pan for use in crises situations.
Develop and implement Cross Training Program for Telecommunications.
Development and Implementation of Telecommunications Support Manual.
Provide training for Backup Telecommunications Support. This will include the management of PBX and Voice Mail systems and the procedures for performing daily adds/moves/changes.
Plan, install, test, and support LAN and WAN MPLS/IP network hardware/software. This includes all routers, switches, gateways, and monitoring software.
Install and maintain virtual private networks, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems to protect the network and servers from attack.
Assist with the design, planning, and installation of sufficient network disaster recovery capabilities to meet the needs of the business.
Execute tasks under the direction of Senior Network Staff and Management to support the data network.
Support the devices used for managing the data network environment. These include but are not limited to WAN/LAN, Routers, Switches, Hubs, and Network Management Software.
Follow all IT Department Information Security Policies and Procedures, act as an advocate for ongoing improvement of information security practices.
Establish and maintain appropriate security configurations and controls for all Telecom systems.
Establish and maintain tools and procedures for regular and frequent monitoring of Telco system alerts and logs for potential attacks to ensure proper and secure information security.
Assist in information security incident response investigations and reporting requirements.
Create and follow documentation for systems and processes & procedures appropriate for the role, which may include telecom a voice messaging device information, firewall rule sets, configuration & change management, host event log security monitoring, disaster recovery, etc.
Assume other duties/projects as they arise and be responsive to the department.
REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of five or more (5+) years experience supporting LAN/WAN environments, including supporting VPN, VOIP, MPLS, IP network technologies.
A minimum of three (3) years of experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008.
A minimum of five (5) years in administrative or consulting role providing firewall and computer security administration.
Cisco CCNP certifications required. CISSP preferred.
Three or more (3+) years of Cisco Call Manager experience
Must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with individuals across all areas and levels of the company and establish communicative and prosperous working relationships.
Grammatical, verbal, writing, spelling and proofreading skills, with ability to express self clearly and effectively in writing as well as on the telephone and in person. Ability to document policies, procedures and work instructions related to networks and IT security.
Must possess good judgment, ability to accept responsibility and handle confidential information. Able to accept security responsibilities and administer systems with the highest degree of trust.
Ability to work as part of team or independently, set and handle multiple tasks and priorities, and lead complex technical projects with only general direction.
Strong ability, desire and enjoyment in working with employees, vendors, and customers with diverse backgrounds, in a cooperative, professional and friendly spirit.
Ability to accept and lead change whether indicated by corporate needs, market, or regulatory requirements.
Able to learn quickly, ask questions, take instruction constructively and be flexible in doing assorted tasks.
Regular and punctual attendance with a willingness to work beyond normal work hours, including being on call 24x7x365.
Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage required.
