Do the words, "Let me just fire up this PowerPoint deck," fill you with dread? Same with us. That's why we built Haiku Deck, an all new iPad app that is changing the way people create and share beautiful presentations. We love what we've built and we need your help to make it better. Haiku Deck is looking for a passionate iOS developer to help us build an amazing app leveraging the latest and greatest features of the iOS development platform.

Responsibilities:


  • The iOS developer is responsible for contributing to the architecture and development for all aspects of the Haiku Deck iPad app. Ideal candidates must thrive in the start-up culture of sweat and constant innovation.
  • Along with knowing the basics of iOS development, an ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of advanced concepts such as custom UI controls, advanced memory management, Core Data, iCloud and integration into our server-side APIs.
  • We are looking for someone who has a deep technical knowledge but also recognizes the impact of design and UX, and has a proven track record of delivering software capable of surprising and delighting users.

  • Skills:


  • Experience with iOS, Objective C and Cocoa Touch
  • Fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
  • Experience with Git, Core Data, XML, JSON and Web Services
  • Experience building complex iOS apps that have been successfully delivered to customers
  • Exceptional analytical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Good organizational and problem solving skills
  • Good team player who is self motivated and well organized

  • Qualities:


  • Must be wise in the ways of iOS development.
  • customizing UI controls
  • creating advanced transforms/animations
  • familiar with advantages and pitfalls of Core Data
  • architecting apps that utilize memory efficiently and debugging memory issues with Instruments
  • asynchronous network calls and image downloads
  • in-app purchases using Store Kit
  • user account management (currently managed via Parse API)
  • synchronizing data between app and web database
  • iCloud integration
  • experience with testing frameworks such as GHUnit and OCMock
  • Must be creative
  • Must be awesome
  • Must be motivated. We're a tiny team. We'll be counting on you to deal with ambiguity, solve-problems, and work with little direction.
  • Must have a sense of humor. We believe in having fun here in the office.
  • Must be ready to learn quickly from the best. Our team brings tons of real-world and startup experience to the table. We've launched products for Microsoft, Cranium, GoMiles.com, and others.

  • Experience:


  • 2+ years experience in mobile application development

  • Compensation:


    This is a full-time position starting immediately. Pay will include a mix of salary and equity depending on level of experience.
