Development Manager, Web and Mobile

Agilysys is looking for an experienced Development Manager to lead a web and mobile product development team we are building in Bellevue, WA. This role manages a cross-functional team that includes developers, program managers and testers. The ideal candidate is hands-on, shaping the technical vision and direction for our products. The candidate thrives in an agile development model and emphasizes quality in their products.

Responsibilities
•Execute in a technology startup environment: green field designs and implementations, build systems, engineering processes, and delivery systems
•Ensure Agile software engineering best practices are utilized and continuously enhanced
•Collaborate with Product Management and executive leadership on product roadmap, features and requirements
•Collaborate with Program Management on multi-release product roadmap generation
•Provide management, mentoring and guidance for a team of Developers, Program Managers and Test Engineers
•Responsible for successful project execution
•Assist Program Management in the tracking and reporting of key project metrics
•Implement and execute processes for quality software engineering
•Participate in and own delivery of high quality software of customer focused features
•Own or review component level designs produced by the team
•Routinely perform code reviews to ensure high quality designs and implementation
•Ensure appropriate unit test coverage for product source
•As a key product stakeholder, be willing to do whatever is required to help out the team

Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent area of study from an accredited university
•At least 5 years of experience in commercial software development
•Exhibit a strong passion for software development and customer delivery
•5+ years of experience with object oriented programming – Java, C#, C++
•2+ years of delivering software as a service
•2+ years of personnel management
•User interface design and implementation including HTML5, rich clients and ideally mobile applications
•Proven track record of successfully shipping multiple commercial software products and services to market
•Have worked in an agile environment, preferably SCRUM or Kanban, and have defined and/or iteratively improved on the process for your teams
•Experience shipping software in globalized and localized environments
•Agile software development project management experience
•Proven experience in performance, scale, and security of mission critical software products
•Experience setting up and managing off-shore teams
•Excellent written and verbal communication, collaboration, analytical and problem solving skills.
