ue mini boomBluetooth speakers are one of the best inventions since the iPod. You used to have to decide where you were going to do the majority of your listening, then set up your speakers accordingly. But today, you can bring a speaker with you to enjoy music wirelessly throughout the house.

The standout leader in the Bluetooth speaker category is the Logitech Ultimate Ears line. The UE Mini Boom is the smallest speaker in that lineup, and matches the lowest price ever today on Amazon (as long as you don’t want it in orange). Not only is it great at reproducing a range of musical styles, it’s also loud. That means it works in the noisy kitchen or the bathroom just as well as the living room or bedroom.

Another nice feature of the UE Mini Boom and it’s larger sibling the UE Boom is stereo pairing. If you buy two speaker, you can sync them together for true stereo sound. That also means you can power larger parties by placing speakers in the living room and the dining room, spreading the music wherever anyone is hanging out without worrying about unsynced playback.

The UE Boom and Mini Boom both claim 50-foot ranges, which is more than most Bluetooth speakers and beyond the normal range of Bluetooth devices in general. However, battery life is still great, with 10 hours of playback per charge. You also get a pretty good speakerphone, although Siri or other voice commands are too slow to be useful over the Bluetooth connection.

The UE Mini Boom is $70 right now, a price you may not see again for a while. The UE Boom is $180, about $10 more than the lowest price ever, so you may want to wait for a lower price on the bigger model.
