The video game industry has become increasingly interested in presenting a cinematic experience. Games are often cast with Hollywood superstars, budgeted more than blockbusters and filled with hour upon hour of highly produced story. There seems to be a clear and inevitable convergence between cinematic storytelling and the modern video game.
But games are not films. And films are not games. Games about films suck. Films about games suck. How can this not suck?
In this series, Seattle based production company Imagos Films will be examining the pitfalls and possibilities of the current industry trend toward trans-media and will provide an insider perspective, with industry guests, production details, convergence concepts and real world experiences by a company knee-deep in the business of new-media storytelling. Hosted by Don Thacker at Northwest Film Forum.
