This week, we just added Seattle Storm veteran and women’s basketball legend Sue Bird to the agenda. Bird, a nine-time WNBA All Star and three-time Olympic gold medalist, will talk about how technology and sports science has impacted the way she prepares for and plays basketball. She recently spoke about sports tech at CES in Las Vegas on a panel with folks like NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and NCAA CEO Mark Emmert.

Also joining us is Erik Anderson, the co-chairman and CEO of Topgolf Entertainment Group, which operates the popular driving-range-meets-bowling-alley entertainment company that utilizes technology in a variety of innovative ways.

We are also looking forward to hearing from Russ D’Souza, co-founder of leading ticketing app SeatGeek, which just raised a $57 million investment round. D’Souza leads SeatGeek’s business functions, including business development and the growth of SeatGeek’s primary ticketing platform, SeatGeek Open. He was also named one of Inc. Magazine’s “30 Under 30” in 2013, as well as one of Business Insider’s “Silicon Alley 100” in 2010.

We’re also excited to welcome Dave Tenney to speak about innovations in sports science. Tenney is the director of performance & sports science at the Seattle Sounders FC, where he manages the team’s use of data and analytics to improve the performance of its players on the pitch. Tenney is one of the most respected soccer minds in sports science and has helped the Sounders utilize a variety of gadgets like GPS trackers and heart rate monitors to measure how exactly their players are performing during training and games.

Other speakers at the Sports Tech Summit include NFL COO Tod Leiweke, who previously was CEO of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Seattle Seahawks; League of Legends co-founder Brandon Beck; and ESPN senior writer John Clayton. We’ll be announcing more speakers in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for that.

Our guests will have a ton of fun at the Sports Tech Summit, with a Sounders match on the evening before a full day of fireside chats, interactive panels, live demos, power talks, and more at the event, which is co-hosted with Seattle Sounders FC and Eiger Marketing.

Last year’s inaugural event featured folks like L.A. Clippers owner Steve Ballmer, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin; MLS Commissioner Don Garber; and others.

Early bird tickets expire soon, so get your tickets today, and see you all in June in sunny Seattle!
