For all the attention that our current president gets for what he does on Twitter, the guy who preceded him in office managed to connect with more people on the social media platform in 2017.

Three tweets from former President Barack Obama are among the nine most retweeted tweets of the year, according to numbers released by Twitter Monday night.

Obama, from his @BarackObama feed, quoted Nelson Mandela in a tweet on Aug. 12 after a violence at a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va., left a woman dead and a nation reeling over racial tensions. The tweet, which is also the most liked in history, was retweeted 1.7 million times.

While Obama’s message may have been the most important one of the year, it didn’t rise to No. 1 because, well, a guy’s gotta eat. Reno, Nev., teen Casey Wilkerson tweeted at Wendy’s in April looking for free chicken nuggets. The fast food chain told him 18 million retweets would get him free “nuggs” for a year. While he only managed 3.6 million, the restaurant hooked him up.

Here are the rest of the top 9 from Twitter, with pleas for hurricane relief, a tribute to a deceased rocker, two Obama messages, a Donald Trump insult from an NBA star and more among the mix.
