When Sir Patrick Stewart says he has a philosophy of “finding diversity” in the acting work that he takes on, he’s not just talking sh*t. Only last night, he kind of was when he stopped by “Conan.”

Stewart, the acclaimed 76-year-old British thespian who is well known for his roles as Capt. Jean-Luc Picard on “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and as Professor Charles Xavier in the “X-Men” films, told Conan O’Brien that he is “honored and delighted” to be taking on the role of poop in the upcoming “The Emoji Movie.”

The poop emoji.

“I’m poop,” Stewart said, before adding that for many years people have said his acting is sh*t and, “Now I’m going to prove to them it’s true!”

Stewart said he uses emojis and is very familiar with them, as he described getting the call about the role.

“How diverse could an emoji role get?” Stewart said. “Poop is it. That’s the one.”

The animated feature is due in theaters this summer, and promises to “unlock the never-before-seen secret world inside your smartphone.”
