Pet insurance company Trupanion’s more than 450 employees, and their more than 200 pets, will start moving into a new headquarters in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle this weekend.

Last year, Trupanion announced it leased a 70,000-square-foot space at Benaroya 6100 and planned to move its headquarters there.

The office has indoor and outdoor dog parks, conference rooms, nap spaces and a classroom/daycare center where Trupanion offers free childcare for employees.

Trupanion CEO Darryl Rawlings said last year the Georgetown space should accommodate future growth, while also letting the company save on rent.

“We have always been very frugal about our facilities spending – rent is simply a frictional cost that doesn’t directly benefit our members,” Rawlings said in a statement last year. “The Benaroya 6100 building is a cost-effective growth solution which should help us continue to drive down our fixed expenses as a percentage of our revenue while gaining brand new, Class A space with all the amenities we need to retain and attract employees.”

Trupanion says it is the second largest pet insurance provider in North America with more than 275,000 enrolled pets as of last November. But it says it wants to grow to as much as 750,000 animals within the next five years.
