The competition for available rentals in Seattle is heated, so it can’t hurt to add another tool to your search routine. Trulia thinks its new Facebook Messenger bot will help consumers move fast on a desired place to live by offering daily updates on listings that match their criteria.

Trulia, part of Seattle-based Zillow Group, says its goal is to make it “easy and enjoyable” for anyone to find their next home. And while that may sound like the complete opposite of the experience for some who are frustrated by the rental market, the bot might help.

The bot makes it easy to search for properties in any location with basic commands. It immediately returns a list of 10 properties that just hit the market while giving users the option to subscribe to daily updates — which will mean 10 listings delivered each day at the same time.

Messenger offers an assortment of settings to opt out of updates and control other characteristics of the bot search, Trulia says.

High-level details about a property — including address, neighborhood summary, price, number of bedrooms and baths — are shown if the user chooses to view that right in Messenger. Otherwise, it’s possible to click through to Trulia’s mobile site.

Trulia says rental searches are just the beginning, and the company is excited about the potential for increased real estate search options down the road.
