Supercomputer maker Cray is moving its St. Paul, Minn. offices to a new office complex on the Mall of America campus.

The Seattle-based company is leasing 87,500 square feet in The Offices at Mall of America, taking over the top four floors of the brand new 10-story building. Cray will be the anchor tenants in the building and have the option to expand further within the building down the line.

“Saint Paul has been a great regional home for Cray over the last seven years,” Cray chief marketing officer Fred Kohout said. “While it’s always tough to leave a location you love, we are excited to move to a new site that will better facilitate our growth, and allow us to continue to build upon our strong presence in the region.”

The company’s St. Paul offices currently employ around 350 people who help engineer, design and sell the supercomputers. The team in Minnisota is larger than at the Seattle headquarters, and will have space for expansion at the new offices.

Cray is moving out of its 65,700-square-foot lease in Cray Plaza as the owners of the building look to sell it. The company looks to fully move into the new space by halfway through 2017.

The new offices will have access to various hospitality, parking and public transit amenities, in addition to the obvious retail options associated with being located at the Mall of America.
