Avalara is moving into new digs next year.

The sales tax company announced today that it has leased 100,000 square feet across the top six floors of a yet-to-be-completed tower at 255 King Street near CenturyLink Field. It plans to relocate its headquarters to the new space by the end of 2017.

Avalara currently has two offices in downtown Seattle, including its headquarters at the historic Second and Spring building. It also still has an office on Bainbridge Island, its previous headquarters.

By 2018, the company’s employees will consolidate at the new building, which will have Avalara’s logo displayed and be called “Avalara Hawk Tower.” Over time, Avalara has an option to lease even more space in the 210,000 square-foot tower, which is part of a new Stadium Place development.

“We are delighted to become the ‘anchor tenant’ of the Avalara Hawk Tower” Avalara CEO Scott McFarlane said in a statement. “We chose this location because of its proximity to public transportation, the football and baseball stadiums, the building’s outstanding architectural features, its state of the art business amenities, and a thriving commercial environment.”

Founded in 2004, Avalara has been growing steadily over the past several years. It raised $42 million from Technology Crossover Ventures last year, a deal that followed a $100 million round from Warburg Pincus in 2014.

Avalara also has offices in London, Belgium, and India. Other backers include Sageview Capital, Battery Ventures, Arthur Ventures and other institutional and individual investors. The company employs approximately 1,000 people.
