Another reservation platform is launching in Seattle on Monday.
Resy is partnering with a handful of Seattle-area restaurants that will use the company’s app and operating system, which lets customers make reservations from their smarpthones.
When Resy launched in New York City two years ago, its key differentiator was the fact that it allowed customers to pay for reservations, letting folks make last-minute reservations at peak demand times for a price.
However, in Seattle, reservations will be free.
Resy’s operating system also includes a waitlist, text message alerts, customer feedback, POS, and mobile payment features.
“Seattle is a great restaurant city,” said CEO Ben Leventhal. “We want to be everywhere that people love dining out.”
Leventhal is also the co-founder of Eater.com, a network of food news blogs in cities around the U.S.
Seattle restaurants using Resy include Bar Melusine, Barrio, Bateau, Brave Horse Tavern, Knee High Stocking Co, Monsoon, The Butcher’s Table, The Whale Wins, and others.
Resy will compete with OpenTable, which also operates in Seattle. Resy is available in 10 U.S. cities and partners with more than 500 restaurants.
