Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty is launching a new interactive, sponsored portal on GeekWire called “Geek Home of the Week,” giving readers of the Pacific Northwest’s leading technology news site a glimpse into some of the most cutting-edge residential properties on the market.

The partnership marks an important new expansion of GeekWire’s content, underscoring the increasingly strong connection between the region’s real estate and technology communities.

“The tech community is clearly an economic driver and GeekWire is an industry leader to reach this consumer,” said Dean Jones, President and CEO of Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty, in a news release announcing the partnership. “Our platform is a fun, informative and functional way to see what’s trending in real estate and we’re just getting started.”

Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty will also be contributing sponsored content to GeekWire as part of the partnership. The booming tech economy is increasingly impacting the region’s commercial and residential real estate markets, and trends in the housing market are a critical topic for tech readers.

Jones describes the region’s tech workers and Millennials as the biggest drivers of the region’s housing market for the foreseeable future — noting, for example, that mortgage underwriters will now consider restricted stock units as one factor in qualifying for home loans.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty on the new Geek Home of the Week feature, displaying some of the coolest real estate and luxury homes for sale in the region,” said GeekWire co-founder John Cook. “Our viewers geek-out about a lot of things — software, aerospace, science, startups — and now we’re excited to feature an amazing home each week and distribute timely real estate news on GeekWire.”

The Geek Home of the Week portal features detailed descriptions and photo galleries offering an inside look at each property. Each month, a new collection of homes will be featured, and readers will have the opportunity to cast their votes for their favorite home, with the winner announced on social media.

Voting is now live here.

Other participants in the new Geek Home of the Week portal include industry sponsors Burrard Group, developer of NEXUS Condominiums; and Caliber Home Loans.
