The Leafly team celebrates the App of the Year award at the 2014 GeekWire Awards.

Leafly is the fastest-growing privately held company in the Pacific Northwest, according to Inc. magazine’s annual ranking.

The Seattle startup, often called “Yelp for marijuana,” generated $8.4 million in revenue in 2015, according to data provided to the magazine. Inc. ranks companies based on percentage revenue growth, and Leafly’s 3,861 percent increase over the past three years landed it No. 76 on the Inc. 5000 list. That’s the highest-ranking company with headquarters in Washington or Oregon to make the list.

Leafly has been on an upswing in the six years since it launched — navigating an acquisition, raising cash, and winning App of the Year at the 2014 GeekWire Awards.

Seeking Health was the top Northwest company on Inc.’s 2015 list. The Bellingham, Wash.-based nutrition supplements startup descended four spots on the regional list this year (No. 181 overall).

It was also a good year for health-focused companies. Portland-based HealthSparq, a healthcare software company, is No. 6 in the Northwest (No. 196 overall). MedBridge, winner of Bootstrapper of the Year at the 2016 GeekWire Awards, saw 1,005 percent three-year revenue growth and came in No. 17 in the region.

Mobile marketing tech company Tune conspicuously dropped out of the top 500, after three consecutive years making the cut. The company still placed in the top 5,000, with an overall ranking of 518. Tune still generated $60.4 million in revenue last year but just 741 percent revenue growth over the past three years. The percentage revenue metric Inc. uses makes it hard for larger companies to rank high on the list.

Stay Alfred — a quiet but fast-growing short-term rental startup out of Spokane, Wash. — is No. 20 for the region. The company’s “hotel meets Airbnb” model generated $13 million in revenue in 2015 and 814 percent revenue growth over the past three years.
