Microsoft Logo - CES 2016Microsoft Ventures has a new leader.

Fortune reported Monday that Nagraj Kashyap, who spent the past 12 years heading up Qualcomm Ventures, will now help Microsoft grow its own startup investment program. A Microsoft representative confirmed the hiring with GeekWire today.

Microsoft Ventures helps the Redmond company invest in early-stage startups and run accelerator programs around the world.

Fortune noted that Kashyap worked to create a robotics accelerator at Qualcomm and launched a global business plan competition, all while helping the chip-maker invest in a bevy of startups that have been acquired by companies like HP, CBS, Sony, and Nokia.

Business Insider reported that Kashyap will work under Peggy Johnson, another former Qualcomm exec who joined the company in August 2014 and now runs Microsoft’s corporate business development group.

Former Microsoft Ventures General Manager Rahul Sood left the company in late 2014 to launch an eSports betting platform called Unikrn.
