Bob Marley would have turned 71 years old this Saturday. He may be resting in peace, but his legacy still lives on.

Marley Natural, an international brand that the Marley family launched this past summer, today announced that it will start selling its first retail products on Monday. They include everything from flowers to cannabis oils to hand cream to smoking accessories.

The marijuana strains — both flower and oil — include Blue Mountain Fire; Jack Herer; C3PO; and Sensi Star. They will be sold for around $50 for 3.5 grams of flower and $40 for 500mg of oil at medical dispensaries in California and will debut in recreational stores in Washington, Colorado, Oregon, and Nevada later this year.

The body care products that are infused with cannabis sativa oil include lip balm, hand cream, body lotion, body wash, soap, essential oil blend, and body salve. They range from $8 to $26 each.

The smoking accessories — a bubbler, other smoking devices, trays, cases, etc. — are made from sustainably grown American Black Walnut wood and heat resistant, hand-blown glass. Here is the price breakdown:

Black Walnut pieces range in price from $35 to $162 depending on the product:

  • Taster $35
  • Spoon Pipe $68
  • Steamroller $72
  • Bubbler $162
  • Small Holder $30
  • Small Case $52
  • Grinder $88
  • Small Tray $65 / Large Tray $78

“Marley Natural is a brand with deep roots in the life and legacy of our father,” Cedella Marley, Bob’s daughter, said in this video. “He’s smiling at what’s really happening.”

Marley Natural employs 20 people at its New York City office and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Privateer Holdings, a four-year-old Seattle-based investment firm that we first wrote about back in October 2012. Privateer owns and operates a handful of marijuana-related companies, from Leafly — a strain resource app that won GeekWire’s App of the Year award six months ago — to Tilray, a Canadian-based brand of medical marijuana.

The Marley family approached Privateer in early 2013 with an idea to carry on Bob Marley’s positive views in regard to the effects of marijuana. The family’s goals aligned with Privateer’s philosophy in the legal cannabis industry.

“We wanted Bob Marley’s voice and vision — and his family’s vision — to help be a part of this movement of ending prohibition,” Privateer Holdings CEO Brendan Kennedy told GeekWire in July. “In many ways, he started the movement 50 years ago with his public comments about cannabis.”

Founded in 2011, Privateer employs more than 250 across its portfolio companies and raised its last round of capital at a whopping $415 million pre-money valuation.
