Donald Trump’s Twitter game may be a source of great engagement or amusement to many, but for Hillary Clinton, a three-word tweet aimed at her presumptive rival in the presidential election was enough to win the internet on Thursday.
Clinton, or some clever person on her staff, pulled out a tried and true Twitter shutdown, writing “Delete your account” after Trump had tweeted about President Obama endorsing Clinton.
Obama just endorsed Crooked Hillary. He wants four more years of Obama—but nobody else does!

The Clinton jab has been retweeted 230,000 times and liked another 260,000 times in the four hours since it went out. The hashtag #DeleteYourAccount was trending. It took Trump 2 hours and 13 minutes to issue a reply, in which he asked Clinton how long it took to come up with her diss.
How long did it take your staff of 823 people to think that up–and where are your 33,000 emails that you deleted? https://t.co/gECLNtQizQ

Comedian Samantha Bee helped Trump with the math and Twitter 101 by pointing out that tweets are time-stamped.

The Verge pointed at a variety of tweets seizing on the political escapade of the day as the “delete your account” meme was suddenly thrust into the spotlight. The New York Times had to do a story.

A recent post by Fusion on the 10 best “delete your account” tweets of Twitter’s first 10 years was sure to need an update to include Clinton/Trump. Just ask Jeb Bush.

Trump’s line back at Clinton referencing her email scandal earned him plenty of support from his fans on Twitter. Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus was among them.
.@HillaryClinton If anyone knows how to use a delete key, it's you.

With months to go before the election, we’re in for a long summer of back and forth on Twitter and elsewhere. Right, Obama?
