USA Network’s Mr. Robot is psychological thriller with a plot that explores, in great detail, the world of cybersecurity and hacking. It’s not only an entertaining show — its technical accuracy means it’s a great way to understand how hackers infiltrate devices and networks, and to learn what people and companies can and can’t do to defend themselves.

That’s what we’ll be doing this week, in advance of the upcoming Season 2 finale.

Joining us again is Corey Nachreiner, CTO at Seattle-based WatchGuard Technologies, who has been analyzing the technical aspects of the show — the “hackuracy,” as they call it — in a regular series on GeekWire called “Mr. Robot Rewind.”

Quick notes for listeners: This will be fun and illuminating even if you’ve never seen Mr. Robot. (I’ve watched the show but haven’t been able to keep up with it, so I’ll be your representative here.) For regular Mr. Robot viewers, we’ll do our best not to spoil the major plot points, but if you’re in the middle of Season 2 right now, you might want to listen to this podcast later.
