Women in TechDespite huge growth in tech jobs over the last decade, only about 20 percent of technology workers are women, and many women who enter the tech workforce do not follow traditional pipelines.

The New York Code and Design Academy is teaming up with Chick Tech Seattle for Breaking the Barrier into Tech, an event of panels, networking, and brainstorming to help women find their way into the tech field.

This event will feature a panel of four women from Seattle’s tech community, who will share their career journeys and the non-traditional pathways many of them followed. There will also be space for networking and discussing diversity in tech.

The event takes place Wednesday Aug. 3, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. WeWork, 1601 5th Avenue in Seattle. Register here.

That’s one of the selections from the GeekWire Calendar, our curated list of the Pacific Northwest’s top tech events. Keep reading and visit the full calendar for more.
