Reflection is an essential part of end-of-the-year festivities and fake news has made many headlines in 2016.

On Thursday night, Dec. 15, The People’s Press Club of Seattle will host Fighting Fake News: A Discussion and Workshop focused on disinformation and its implications.

Seattle Weekly Editor-in-Chief Mark Baumgarten moderates a panel featuring local media representatives including Monica Guzman of Everygrey, Hanna Brooks Olsen of Seattlish, and Monica Nickelsburg of GeekWire. After, Guzman and educators from The Seattle Globalist will lead a workshop on “how to listen and talk across political and cultural divides” to combat fake news.

Fighting Fake News will take place on December 15, from 7 – 9 p.m. at the Hillman City Collaboratory. Those interested in jumping into the political discourse can RSVP here.
