A sip of beer had KING-5’s Saint Bryan wishing he knew how to write code Wednesday evening as the Seattle newscaster paid a visit to Axon, winner of GeekWire’s 2016 Geekiest Office award.

“How do I get in?” Bryan said as he tried to enter what he called “the office space of the future.” Behind sliding spaceship-style doors, Bryan was stopped by a retinal scanner that could not confirm his identity.

Once inside the offices of the company — which makes hardware and software for law enforcement, such as body cameras — Bryan was wowed by Matrix-style chairs, and a robot rolling around with a tablet that was linked to CEO Rick Smith at an off-site meeting.

But the beer taps in the kitchen really got Bryan’s attention, as he sampled a Mosaic Pale Ale from Ballard’s Stoup Brewing and started asking about job openings.

“Where you work matters because you spend a lot of time here,” Axon GM Marcus Womack said in the segment, which you should watch below.
