Manny Rivelo, who resigned as CEO of Seattle-based F5 Networks in December due to unspecified “personal conduct matters,” has landed a new job as CEO of AppViewX, a Texas-based network infrastructure automation company.

The appointment of Rivelo as CEO “will help us capitalize on opportunities as we evolve and expand our offerings across our product suite,” said Anand Purusothaman, AppViewX chairman, in a news release announcing Rivelo’s hiring. “I’m absolutely confident that he is the best person to lead us into this fantastic new phase.”

The announcement from privately held AppViewX didn’t reference the circumstances of Rivelo’s departure from F5, the publicly traded security technology and network infrastructure company. F5 executives have repeatedly declined to provide details, other than to say the departure was unrelated to F5’s operating performance or financial condition.

Longtime F5 CEO John McAdam returned as CEO upon Rivelo’s departure, and McAdam told GeekWire in January that he was in no rush to find a permanent replacement.
