Ernst and YoungFinancial services giant Ernst & Young LLP, also known as EY, has acquired Bellevue, Wash., based Society Consulting, a consulting services firm with an expertise in big data and analytics.

About 150 Society Consulting employees will join EY’s Seattle office as a result of the deal, according to the firms. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Society Consulting was originally founded in 2008, quickly growing from a five-person startup to one of the largest analytics consulting firms in the country. As of last year, the company employed more than 250 people. Past customers have included Microsoft and supply chain company Gist.

Society Consulting will be known as EY Society as a result of the acquisition.

“Our clients want to become more data-driven and often ask for the best way to leverage all their data, how to make sense of it, and what capabilities they need to transform their company and drive consistent, sustained value by becoming a more data-driven business,” said Saj Usman, advisory data and analytics leader at EY America, in a statement. “With the Society Consulting team as part of EY, we can enhance clients’ digital experiences by harnessing world class technology delivery, data science and data architecture capabilities.”
