Virtual and Augmented Reality is booming in the Pacific Northwest, and on Friday, a host of fun, talented, and geeky VR enthusiasts will flock to the famous Green Dragon in Portland to get started on shaping the future.

The event includes a three-hour industry showcase from 1 to 4 p.m. from VR startups in Seattle, Portland, and Vancouver, B.C. The event then opens to the public for an evening of beer, VR, and hopefully no bad interactions between the two.

And although general admission tickets are sold out, there’s still time to register for free as an industry professional or to sign up for the company showcase. Check out registration options and more info on the event here.

That’s one of the selections from the GeekWire Calendar, our curated list of the Pacific Northwest’s top tech events. Keep reading and visit the full calendar for more.
