Amazon today launched a website for its Prime Now one- and two-hour delivery service, offering a new option for Amazon Prime users, who were previously only able to access the service by downloading a mobile app for iOS or Android.
For now, at least, Prime Now delivery options aren’t being integrated into the company’s flagship e-commerce site, Amazon.com. Instead, Amazon launched a standalone site, at PrimeNow.com, where Prime members can buy items for fast delivery.
“We have expanded the service rapidly over the last year to new cities and customers told us that they would want the option to shop on a browser as well as mobile—so we’re excited to expand the shopping experience to www.primenow.com,” says Stephenie Landry, vice president of Prime Now, in a statement released by the company.
Amazon says Prime Now is available in more than 25 metro areas around the country. Prime Now is available to Amazon Prime members, who pay $99/year or, in a recent twist, $10.99/month for the service. Two-hour delivery is free, while one-hour delivery costs $7.99.
