Too bad someone at Amazon didn’t think to get a lighted Christmas tree into the biospheres during last week’s snowstorm in Seattle. The company would have had a heck of a holiday card.
As it is, a photograph by Melissa Anne McClain came across as stunning enough and managed to grab the attention of Jeff Bezos, who tweeted the image of “the Spheres’ first snow” and called it “a great pic.”

The three domes at the base of Amazon’s new corporate towers, north of Lenora Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues, have been photographed plenty during their construction. But the two inches of snow that fell on Seattle Thursday night and into Friday created an even more dramatic effect on the glass covering the structures’ steel exoskeleton.
McClain was stoked to have the snow, get the shot and receive the shout out on Twitter from Bezos.
Not a bad birthday gift…snow and a photo shout out from @JeffBezos. Follow your passions! https://t.co/KbL3RAKx5R
