Adam Selipsky, the head of sales and marketing at Amazon Web Services and a lieutenant to AWS CEO Andy Jassy, is leaving the company, AWS confirmed. His departure was first reported by The Information.
Selipsky is one of the longest-serving members of the executive team at the $7.8-billion cloud computing business. He joined in 2005, before AWS was generating revenue, and is one of only two executives at the unit who have been in place since it launched, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Before AWS, he was a vice president at Seattle’s RealNetworks for six years.
“We can confirm that after 11 years at Amazon, Adam will be leaving,” AWS said this afternoon in an email. “We appreciate his contributions and wish him well in his future endeavors.”
