Bored with all your friends’ picks on Spotify? Give Barack Obama a try.
That’s right. Obama curated two playlists for Spotify today with the White House launching a new channel on the popular music streaming service.
According to the White House blog post, “When asked to pick a few of his favorite songs for the summer, the President got serious. He grabbed a pen and paper and drafted up not one, but two separate summer playlists: One for the daytime, and one for the evening.”
Obama’s summer playlists are eclectic and demonstrate some damn fine music taste. He includes classic artists like Otis Redding and Aretha Franklin, and modern pop stars like Justin Timberlake and Beyoncé.
The daytime playlist is geared to get you going, featuring the Temptations, Bob Dylan, and Bob Marley and the Wailers, while his sweet evening jams include Frank Sinatra, Nina Simone and Billie Holiday.
Better enjoy it while you can. Something tells me that Obama has better music taste than whoever’s next in line.
