Twitter executive Mike Gupta, who serves as the senior vice president of strategic investments at the social networking giant, has joined the board of fast-growing Seattle e-commerce company Zulily. Gupta, who prior to his current role at Twitter served as the company’s CFO, will serve on the Zulily audit committee.

Zulily started by selling baby and kids products, but has since expanded into housewares and other products.

“Darrell (Cavens) and the Zulily team have built an incredible company in a very short time. Their focus on a new and different experience in e-commerce is truly unique, and I’m excited to join them in this journey,” said Gupta in a statement provided to GeekWire.

Cavens noted that Gupta’s experience at a rapid-growth company will be of value as Zulily aims to become a leading consumer e-commerce brand.

Prior to Twitter, Gupta worked as senior vice president of finance and treasurer at Zynga. Before that, he worked at Yahoo for eight years.

Shares of Zulily are now trading at $20, below the company’s Nov. 2013 IPO price.

Zulily posted revenue of $285 million in the third quarter, a 72 percent gain over the same period in the prior year. It now has 4.5 million active customers.
