The Time 100 Most Influential People list is out. And it’s great to see the creator of Amazon’s groundbreaking, award-winning series Transparent on the list.
Jill Soloway, who previously worked on HBO’s Six Feet Under, makes the Time 100 Artist list, no doubt due in large part to her work on Transparent.
As True Blood and Six Feet Under creator Alan Ball writes in the Time 100 essay about first reading Soloway’s work: “It was absurd, sad, uncomfortable, hilarious, angry, compassionate and brilliant.” Which could just as easily be said for Transparent.
Transparent, of course, took home two Golden Globes earlier this year, for Best Actor (Jeffrey Tambor) and Best Comedic Television Series. Unfortunately, according to reports, fans still have a while to wait for season two, which is to be released sometime in late 2015.
Take a look at who’s just below Soloway in the Time 100 Artists category: Chris Pratt.
Go ahead and take a swing through the list. Tech titans galore. It’s a pretty fun read: Elon Musk writes about Kanye; John Lewis writes about Tim Cook; Sean Parker covers Reid Hoffman. And Aaron Levie covers Satya Nadella, writing, that he is “setting Microsoft up for greatness again.”
