Interested in geek girl culture? The Unicorn Files might be for you.

In a Kickstarter launched today, Seattle-area “geeks” Terra Clarke Olsen and Nate Watters are raising funds to support their photo-book project that celebrates women in geek culture.

“The photos represent them and what they love,” they write via Kickstarter. “Every shot is unique (some women have a lot of geek memorabilia while others have none; some women are comic nerds while others are tech geeks), but the one common theme being that the photos are taken in their home (a safe space that is reflective of them).”

If they reach their goal of $23,000 it will cover printing and other publicity related costs. They have 29 days to go. A donation of $30 gets you the book, promotional stickers and buttons, and a shoutout in the book and on their site as a backer.

The idea of Olsen, who is part of GeekGirlCon‘s board of directors, the project is meant to give visibility to a group that is often “dismissed and overlooked.” You can learn more about The Unicorn Files and geek girl culture at her Tumblr here.
