Asthma or allergies have you congested? This Kickstarter project might be for you.

Seattle-based Kaia is an indoor air gadget that monitors the air quality and sends updates via an app, helping you make adjustments that will hopefully alleviate suffering and help you breathe better.

“The quality of the air we breathe directly impacts our sleep, focus, energy levels, and respiratory system, yet symptoms build up so gradually that we become used to living with the invisible particles in our air — pollutants that make us sick,” the founders write on their site.

Kaia is a device that connects to Wi-Fi and your smartphone to alert you to changes in air quality — and offers helpful suggestions on what to do to improve it.

The cool crystal-looking device alerts you via colors: green is good, orange is meh, and bright pink is bad. Once you see that, you can look at your smartphone for actionable steps to improve your air quality, like opening a window, cleaning your house, or doing something about pet dander.

So far, the makers have nearly 150 backers and raised over $17,000 on their way to the goal of $150,000, with 23 days to go. A pledge of $110 gets you the Kaia device expected to ship by September 2016.
