Move over old-world retail billionaires.
Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is now “richer than three of the four Wal-Mart heirs,” according to Bloomberg.
Bezos’ net worth got a huge bump from Amazon’s first quarter, which beat expectations with revenues of $22.72 billion and sent the company’s stock soaring.
Bloomberg reported that Bezos’ “fortune jumped $4.9 billion to $40 billion, making him the world’s 10th-richest person.”
Wal-Mart’s Christy Walton, Sam’s daughter-in-law, is the only Wal-Mart heir who is on par with Bezos now.
