Of all the crazy, cool, awesome and weird stuff we’ve seen from automakers during CES and coming out of the Detroit Auto Show, this has to be one of the wildest: A fish tank in your car.

That’s right. Forget those lame disco shoes of the ’70s. Chinese automaker GAC wants to pimp your ride with a fish tank.

The report comes courtesy of Business Insider, which wrote about the WitStar SUV’s launch, calling it a “Model X lookalike.” Motor Trend outlines the WitStar’s features, which include an electric driving range of more than 62 miles with an onboard one-liter, four-cylinder gas generator that can extend total range to 370 miles. All told it is expected to get 117 miles to the gallon. It will also have GPS, laser radar, high-speed CCD camera and an infrared camera. All these sensors are to help create a “real-time 3D map” of the area around the SUV.

Reports are calling it GAC’s answer to Tesla’s Model X, complete with the trademark “falcon doors.”

The Guangzhou-based GAC was the only Chinese automaker at the show. Below, a video of the company discussing going into Russia, but around 1:28 you can catch a glimpse of the WitStar and that bubbling fish tank.
