John Legere is a big Richard Sherman fan, and given the T-Mobile CEO’s outspoken personality, it’s not all that surprising.
After the Seahawks pulled off a miracle on Sunday afternoon and somehow beat Green Bay in overtime, Legere tweeted this out:
You are a legend and a great example of how to back up your words…I hope to be like you @RSherman_25
— John Legere (@JohnLegere) January 19, 2015
Sherman, the Seahawks star cornerback who basically played with one arm in the fourth quarter on Sunday, responded:
@JohnLegere Thank you very much
— Richard Sherman (@RSherman_25) January 19, 2015
The two actually have quite a bit in common — at least from a trash-talking and social media perspective. Both are active on Twitter — Sherman with 1.2 million followers; Legere with 955,000 — and take the time to interact with fans and customers.
In addition, Legere and Sherman are both extremely outspoken. But while each leader certainly talks a lot of smack, both back it up. Sherman believes and says he’s the best cornerback in the league, and his stats and track record over the past few seasons prove that. Meanwhile, Legere has spent the last several months blasting Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon as T-Mobile adds a record number of customers.
