With our ever-growing obsession with colonizing Mars, there will be no shortage of Hollywood flicks coming about humankind on the Red Planet.

And who better to be one of the first astronauts to land on Mars than Matt Damon?

Damon stars in Ridley Scott’s film The Martian, about a lone astronaut that gets lost on Mars and must “science the shit out of this” to survive. Meanwhile, while a very pensive-looking NASA staff on earth monitor the situation, his space crew, led by Jessica Chastain, embark on a rogue rescue mission.

Based on the bestselling novel by Andy Weir with the same title (which was first self-published by the way — way to go, Andy!), the film is out Nov. 25. Until then, get a look at the trailer:
