Ah, New York. Where you can get a coffee and a bagel made exactly the way you want it in under two minutes flat.

The level of service — and how fast you get stuff in NYC — is amazing. Apparently, Starbucks thinks it can improve its process even more in the quick-service fray. The company has announced that it’s opened an even faster service spot on Wall Street, across from the Stock Exchange.

“This pilot project is tailored for customers on-the-go who want high-quality Starbucks products in a beautiful environment, coupled with the efficiency that comes with knowing what they want, quickly,”reads the Starbucks’ announcement online. “Simply put, this format is the ‘espresso shot’ version of the store experience Starbucks is known for.”

The 538-square-foot store is pretty slick, according to the pictures Starbucks has posted. When customers walk in, they’ll be greeted by someone taking orders via a handheld device. These mobile point-of-sale positions, digital displays and low counters all work to create an “open” feel to the space and expedite your morning caffeine run, according to Starbucks.

Usually, I’m not a fan of bigger, better, faster, more, but damn, if this express lane to your morning espresso isn’t a great idea for time-crunched New Yorkers on their way to work. If there’s one thing I hate, it’s waiting more than five minutes to get a simple cup of coffee.
