You’ll want this 3D-printed Chewbacca Buddha and everything else in this Etsy store.

Maker Chris Milnes, or muckychris on Etsy, may live in Teaneck, N.J., but his passion for 3D printing popular sci-fi characters knows no galactic bounds. Not only does he have Star Wars pretty much covered with Yoda, Chewbacca, Boba Fett, C3PO and “Zen” troopers, but he’s also got Buddha-mashup statues of Batman, the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy and Battlestar Galactica.

Milnes says on Etsy, “I see 3D printing as a new artistic medium as well as a manufacturing platform. I haven’t slept in eight months.”

How does he do it? Milnes uses a MakerBot Replicator 2 and “literally overnight began pumping out hundreds of retail ready pieces out of his home office. With some guerrilla marketing, and a lot of luck, a new business was born.” To date, he has sold close to 1,100 pieces.

The Buddha mashups are possible due to Creative Commons licensing from the original modelers, combined with his own work. The pieces range from $7.99 to $27.99, and you can get most of them in 2-, 4-, or 6-inch sizes.
