“Finally. A boyfriend your friends can believe in.”

It’s happened. A new beta program promises to keep you digitally connected with your virtual boyfriend to convince the world that you are taken, aka the equivalent of that “boyfriend from Canada you met at summer camp last year.”

The app, Invisible Boyfriend, promises to give you “real-world and social proof that you’re in a relationship — even if you’re not — so you can get back to living life on your own terms,” according to their website.

When you sign up, you can create your own boyfriend, selecting his age, background, photos, even the meet-cute story of how you came together (At a bar? On a plane? Climbing?). You will get “real-time” texts from your Invisible Boyfriend, therefore proving to the world that you are, indeed, loved.

Interested? You can submit your info via their site. If you’re selected for the beta program there is a small one-time fee of $24.99, because unlike J-Lo’s love, this Invisible Boyfriend’s love don’t come for free.
