Probably the most vocal advocate out there encouraging women to code, Facebook’s chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg has announced an expanded effort to encourage even more women to do just that. Formed under her Lean In Circles initiative, this new community will focus on computer science and engineering students.

LeanIn.org, Facebook, LinkedIn and the Anita Borg Institute today announced the partnership to expand Lean In Circles on college campuses. Lean In chapters are already on approximately 350 campuses to date, according to the site.

The bestselling author of Lean In, Sandberg created Lean in Circles to extend the work of her book. The professional peer support initiative has almost 21,600 groups in 97 countries. The small groups of about a dozen women meet regularly to network, mentor and help each other out.

The announcement:

“Looking for some extra support as you pursue your computer science and engineering career? Look no further—we’d love to have you as a part of a wide network of women who want to Circle up in support of women in CS&E majors at colleges around the world! Lean In’s CS&E Chapter supports women studying computer science and engineering at universities around the world (with a little help from our friends at Facebook, LinkedIn, and the Anita Borg Institute).

“To join the community, sign up for an existing Circle or start one of your own and add it to the CS&E Chapter by clicking ‘request to join’ below. When you do, you’ll gain access to Lean In’s Circle Hub, where you’ll find our latest and greatest materials and information on Lean In events, along with exciting opportunities to exchange ideas, network, and collaborate with other CS&E Chapter members.”
