Idiocy and tech keep on colliding.

This time, the story of allegedly committing armed robbery and trying to get away in an Uber comes from the Baltimore Sun.

Last week, armed robbery suspect, Dashawn Terrell Cochran, 23, held up a Royal Farms store (a popular chain of convenience stores) in Parkville, Md., then apparently hitched a ride in an Uber that was already under hire by another guest.

But not just any Uber — a silver Lexus Uber.

Police used his description and a K-9 unit to find him, and followed up on a report that he was seen getting into the Lexus.

It’s unclear by the Sun‘s account whether Cochran actually ordered the Uber or just jumped into the car.

“The driver told police he was an Uber driver and had just picked up two passengers,” reports the Sun. “Police say they released the driver and second passenger after determining they had nothing to do with the robbery.”

Baltimore County Police told the Sun that Cochran is facing armed robbery charges.
