skype-mojisHave you ever felt that a clip from a movie or TV show was the only way you could really express yourself? A new addition to Skype may make finding and sharing those clips easier.

Moji, announced on the Skype blog today, is a new way to share your feelings. Microsoft teamed up with Universal Studios, Disney Muppets, BBC and other studios to let users embed clips from TV shows and movies into Skype chats.

At launch, Moji will include clips from Despicable Me, Bridesmaids, Pitch Perfect, Jurassic Park, The Muppets and others. Microsoft will continue to add clips over time as well.

Moji compete with Facebook’s stickers, which allow users to post small moving illustrations (including selections from popular movies and shows) in chat and comments on the social network. However, Moji use actual clips from users’ favorite content, which may be more recognizable and consumable in a chat environment.

Moji will roll out to Skype apps on Windows, Mac, iOS and Android today. Users can post Moji by selecting the new tab in the emoticons section of the chat page.
